Warm Greetings!

I am delighted in bringing out this first edition of our school E- Magazine. Educating today’s children has become a challenge in itself. Kids of today exhibit a great blend of fine sensibilities and are at their creative best andutmost resourceful than ever before.

Thus, it’s quite a task to strike a delicate balance, in making the magazine a chronological record of school happenings and a launch pad forthe child’s creativity. The pages have been carefully sequenced and designed, keeping in mind the economy of space and the scope for maximum inclusion of interesting content, so that the leaves make up for a riveting reading experience coupled with engaging visual sight. Hope our effort turns out to be an efficacious enterprise for you....

Happy times!

A GOOD GOAL SETTING

Goal setting is everywhere in the world. We set goals for our careers, our health and our lives in general.

What is goal setting?

It is the act of selecting a target or objective you wish to achieve. We should ask ourselves what kind of pain do I want? Its easy to sit around and think what we could do or what we would like to do but entirely a different thing to get down to work.

Everyone wants a gold medal. A few want to train like an Olympian. The kind of pain and effort we are ready to put in largely determines how close we are to the goal. Obstacles are bound to come. Our grit and determination coupled with perseverance will surely help us cruise over any troubles that may come in the way.

So, what are you waiting for? March ahead with head held high and a assurance in mind that the goal is well within your reach.

They should be sued

We are sick of doing this every day…

Stop Child labour!

Our cuts and bruises aren’t healing

As we do this day by day

Its like they feel, but have no feelings.

And aren’t bothered of what we have to say.

We are tired of doing this everyday

STOP CHILD LABOUR!

DONT QUIT
When things go wrong as they sometimes will And trudging seems all uphill When funds are low and debts are high You want to smile but have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit Rest if you must but don’t you quit. Life is queer with its twist and turns as everyone sometime learns, Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man Often the struggler has given up When he is closer to victor’s cup. Success is failure inside out The silver tints of clouds of doubt None can tell how close you are Maybe near maybe far So stick to the fight when your hardest hit It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit. INFLUENCE OF MUSIC ON YOUTH
We spend a lot of time focussing on cell phones, video games and television but certainly listening to music continues to be one of teen’s favourite digital activities. Music has been central to young people’s life for generations. For our dad’s generation, dancing to music blaring from the record player was the bee’s knees. For the next generation, making mixed tapes was required to successfully navigate the ups and downs of high school days. Now, young people can bump music from iphone to iphone, stream it online and watch their favourite music videos. An average 8-18-year-old spends around 2 and half hours a day listening to music. What the influence of music on young people. It is an amazing outlet of personal identity and expression. Music helps you to relax and manage their moods and provides ways to connect with peers. Many are encouraged to play instruments, sing and learn different kinds of music. While soothing and relaxing background music may not hinder student’s study skills, remember that our brains gets hindered with loud lyrics and abrupt changes in volume. Thus, music can be an incredible medium for student’s identity and to celebrate their experiences and emotions. PRATISHTHA IX B
THE CONTRAST
Easy is to judge the mistake of others, Difficult is to recognise our own mistakes. Easy is to hurt someone who loves you, Difficult is to heal the wound. Easy is to set rules, Difficult is to follow them. Easy is to dream every night, Difficult is to fight for a dream. Easy is to say we love, Difficult is to show it every day. Easy is to make mistakes, Difficult is to learn from them. SHIPRA SURYAN XII B
THE DIARY OF A GIRL CHILD
Monday: “I am in my mother’s womb.” Tuesday: “My mother can feel my heartbeat.” Wednesday: “I have grown hands and legs.” Thursday: “WOW I am born but I am a girl.” Friday: “I am dead… My parents killed me.” Yes!!! This is what many of our little sisters have to face when they are born. To escape burdens like marriage, dowry, parents kill their own daughters who have not even fully opened their eye lids to see this world. On one hand we say that India is a country where women are worshipped and on the other hand we find people killing tiny souls. A question that always arises in my mind is why do people forget that the one who gave them birth, who brought them up with so much care and love is also a “woman”. If they respect their mother, why do they have a difficulty in accepting a girl child? In today’s world girls are moving ahead of boys in all fields, now parents proudly say “ we have given birth to a girl child” ! However, there still are a lot of people who believe that girls are a burden. Here is an earnest request to them: “Accept your baby girl and be proud of her. Do not kill her and commit a sin. A girl or a boy are both creations of God and we are no one to kill them.” GIRLS ARE IN NO WAY INFERIOR TO BOYS ! YASHIKA GAUTAM X- C
THE SHORTEST VOYAGE - SCHOOL LIFE
It feels like yesterday, when I entered the school for the very first time, school bag on my shoulders, crying unwilling to go to class with 50 other chaps like me. Never felt someday, I will miss the same classrooms I once hated. Though the school-life is a very important part of one’s life because it provides opportunity for study and discipline. Besides these, the school-life is a preparatory stage for entering public life. School widens the outlook of students. Virtues such as perseverance, sincerity, truthfulness, tolerance, discipline and obedience are developed in pupils. Synonym for school life is friendship. It plays a crucial role in social development as when we make friends, we don’t bother about their caste or religion; it is based on genuine emotions. It is our friends who help us in adverse problems and also share personal life with them as after certain time they become our family. Though fourteen years is a long time we spend in school, we realise that this time has been the most sweet, memorable times of my life. VANSHIKA XII B
THE SUFFERINGS OF INDIAN WOMEN
Indian women face a lot of social issues and problems all through their life which is a big struggle for them right from their beginning of life. Female infanticide is the most common practice of killing girl child. Women in India are considered a burden for their parents and husbands, largely in the rural areas as they think that women are here to consume money without earning a bit. Another problem is sex determination which leads to female foeticide. Illiteracy, lack of proper education, responsibility of household work, rape, sexual harassment at workplace etc., are some huge issues for women in India. However a lot of positive changes have occurred in the country. Various rules, regulations and acts have been made by the Indian government regarding the safety of women. However, a new juvenile justice act and care and protection of children has been passed by the Indian government by replacing the earlier act of year 2000 Indian juvenile delinquency law to reduce the juvenile age from 18 to 16 years especially in case of heinous offences. WHAT IS FREEDOM
Freedom is the right to do Anything that pleases you, As long as you keep insight And others also have a right. Do you have the right to kill a cat? Oh no! It’s wrong, just consider that The cat has a right to live like you A right of drinking and eating too. To injure someone to win a race To despise some and others embrace To disobey every order and rule And drown a swimmer in the pool. So never forget that Although you are free, You should think of others, Not only “ME!” ADITYA RATHORE IX D
WHAT MAKES A GOOD STUDENT
Good grades, a positive attitude and hard work are all positive qualities of a good student. A good student doesn’t always depend on those three qualities though. A good student comes to class and pays attention to the teacher. Self-discipline and time management are also important factors to being a good student. Senior Aubrey Noe says, “A good student does what they can for teachers, family and friends.” For a good student to succeed and accomplish his goals he needs to have the right encouragement from his teachers. A good student is someone who is respectful, gets his work done and supports his peers. So, from students studying and doing their homework, to having a positive attitude and managing their time and priorities, a good student tries his best to do his best. SHIPRA SURYAN XII B
WHY TODAY MATTERS?
Today is not just any ordinary day. Today is a day that matters. Today you will have the choice to make a difference in your life and those around you. Today you will have the choice to smile rather than frown; lift up rather than put down; accept rather than reject and love rather than hate. Today you will have the choice of seeking hope for the future or remain in the hopelessness of the past. Today you will have the choice to laugh or cry. Both will make you feel better. Today you will have the undivided attention of the king of the universe. At the time you can ask him anything you want, you can ask for help, plead for a friend or just enjoy his present. It all depends on you. Whichever you choose, today matters. Make the choice to make it a day worth living. And don’t forget, tomorrow is another day. SHAMA PARVEEN XI – D
